All
bookings must be secured by a 20% deposit, which is non
refundable unless the activity is cancelled by Skye
Ghillie before it is due to take place. This deposit
will not include any part of the permit cost.
Permits
must be obtained from the fishery before taking to the
water. This can be arranged through Skye Ghillie. It is criminal offence to fish for salmon and
sea trout without one. It is also a civil offence to
fish for brown trout without permission.
Depending
on the time of year and the waters being fished, catch
and release may be in operation or a bag limit imposed.
With
the exception of guide dogs, no dogs are allowed on
the beats. Many of the rivers and lochs are on crofting
or common grazing land.
In
Scotland it is illegal to fish for salmon and sea trout
on a Sunday. Although it is legal to fish for brown
trout on a Sunday, this is not something that is
encouraged in the Western Isles. Mitchell regrets, but
he will not take anyone out fishing on a Sunday.
Skye
Ghillie would like to point out that he does not take
any commition on the permit sales.
Skye
Ghillie may, for safety reasons, postpone, curtail or cancel
fishing or walking activities at any time.
Any
damages to Skye Ghillie property will incur a charge.
Skye
Ghillie tariffs do not include personal insurance.
